Oats, pecans, almonds and coconut are mixed with butter pecan syrup and baked in the oven to make a crunchy granola. Eat it with yogurt and fruit for a special breakfast treat.

Ingredients
1/3cupbrown sugar
2 1/2cupsrolled oats
1cupslivered almonds
1cuppecans, chopped
1cupsweetened coconut
1/2teaspoonsalt
1/2cupsyrup, butter pecan or maple syrup with 2 tablespoons melted butter
1/4cupcanola oil
Instructions
Place the first 6 ingredients in a large bowl and mix thoroughly.
Pour the syrup and canola oil over the granola mixture and stir until coated.
Cover a 15x10 inch baking sheet with parchment paper. Pour the granola onto the sheet pan and spread it evenly.
Bake the granola at 250 degrees for one hour and 20 minutes, stirring and turning it every 20 minutes.
Allow the granola to cool and then place it in an airtight container or resealable plastic bag. You can also add dried fruit at this point, dried cranberries are always a good choice. This recipe makes about 6 cups of granola or 12 (1/2 cup) servings.
