Sunday breakfast has always been a time in our house to bring the family together…starting the week with good food and family time. I made Easy Sausage Gravy and Biscuits with eggs and fruit. A hearty breakfast that fills us up and satisfies everyone. Just a few simple ingredients and thirty minutes in the kitchen and you have a hot, savory breakfast. I wish everyday could be Sunday!
There’s a time for homemade recipes and then, there’s a time for shortcuts. Many times I’ll grab a convenient item to use in a meal, like prepared biscuit dough, because I know that I won’t have time to make them myself or simply because it is EASY. Busy lives just mandate these choices and that’s okay! Pillsbury is the leader is prepared doughs for a variety of baking needs, including biscuits, pizza crust and pie dough. And they all taste great!

Makes 4 servings.
- 16-ounce tube of Pillsbury Grands Biscuits (Southern Homestyle)
- 1 pound ground breakfast sausage
- 3 heaping tablespoons flour
- 3 cups of milk
- a pinch of ground dried sage
- salt and black pepper to taste
How to make Sausage Gravy and Biscuits?
- Bake the biscuits according to package instructions.
- While the biscuits are baking, brown the sausage over medium heat in a skillet.
- Add the flour and stir, cooking for another 5 minutes.
- Add the milk and ground sage. Continue stirring while cooking over low heat for 8-10 minutes until thickened and bubbly. Salt and pepper to taste.
- Cook your eggs, sunny-side up or scrambled, in a large skillet over medium heat to serve with the sausage gravy and biscuits.
I split each biscuit open and poured hot gravy over the top. I served it with an egg and fresh fruit, you just can’t go wrong with this comforting plate of food. This is one of my husband’s favorite breakfast meals. I hope you take time to start the week right with a great breakfast shared with your family.
