Chicken Lettuce Wraps

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/3 cup hoisin sauce
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
  • 8 ounce can water chestnuts, drained and chopped

How to make Chicken Lettuce Wraps?

  • Add the ground chicken to a large skillet (or wok) and cook over medium high heat for about 4 or 5 minutes. Add a tablespoon of canola oil if the meat is lean and becomes dry while cooking. Cook until browned, then add the garlic and onion. Cook another 3 minutes until the onion is soft.
  • Add the Hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar and the chopped water chestnuts and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Remove the skillet from the heat and sprinkle the green onions over the mixture, if desired.
