Whether you make these for a summer side dish or an easy dessert, Grilled Nectarines with Goat Cheese make a juicy sweet summer treat.

Grilled Nectarines with Goat Cheese

The unsung heroes of summer, nectarines are often overlooked for peaches. They are the closest relative of the peach, with their smooth skin being one of the only differences. Nectarines are delicious in summer cocktails, like sangria and make the best warm weather desserts, like cobbler and ice cream.

Substitutions and Additions:

This recipe is versatile and allows you to customize it according to your family’s taste.

  • FRUIT-The most obvious substitution in this recipe is to use peaches instead of nectarines. I have grilled both and both are delicious. My choice is solely based on which fruit looks the freshest when I am shopping. I have also grilled plums and they are equally delicious!
  • TOPPINGS– We really love goat cheese, roasted pistachios and honey on our grilled nectarines. But your can use mascarpone cheese, cream cheese, whipped cream or top them with a big scoop of ice cream and a pinch of cinnamon. Again, it depends on what your family prefers. Be sure to comment below with your favorite toppings.
