Home cooks from across the country joined me in January for our Monthly Cooking Challenge and I’m so excited to say we are featuring some amazing recipes again this month. Join me for the February Cooking Challenge and we will cook up some of your favorites.

The snow has certainly been flying this winter and it has given us an opportunity to make some of our most comforting recipes in January. So many of you left amazing reviews and raved about all the yummy things coming out of your kitchen.
Who won last month’s Cooking Challenge?
Thanks to everyone who visited raveaboutfood.com, made recipes and left reviews. Daryl K. is our winner for January. He made and reviewed Wyoming Cowboy Cookies and shared them with a neighbor who had graciously shoveled their sidewalk. Congratulations, Daryl for winning this month’s cooking challenge!
Daryl made Wyoming Cowboy Cookies and left this review with a 5-star rating:
“I needed some cookies to reward our neighbors who ran their snowblower along our sidewalk yesterday. This recipe is fantastic! It has the right amount of chips (I substituted a combo of chocolate, peanut butter and butterscotch chips) and the buttery cookie dough is very tasty. The texture was a bit soft coming out of the oven but they immediately crisped up enough to put in a bag for delivery. I’m not much of a baker but these turned out great. Excellent recipe!” ~Daryl K.
Thanks to Daryl and family for their review. I hope you visit often to find and make more delicious recipes.

What were the most popular recipes made in January?
The most popular recipes last month featured traditional comfort food. Recipes that are meant to keep you warm and satisfied during those cold, frigid winter months were at the top of the list, including hearty soups and baked goods.
Shelly was excited to make Italian Wedding Soup and wrote:
“Gonna make this today, New Years Day! Cant wait to see how it turns out!”
Michelle asked a great question about a substitution in the recipe for Peanut Butter Granola.
“Can you use regular oats instead of quick oats with this recipe? It sounds good, can’t wait to try it!”
Thanks to everyone who reached out with a question, made recipes and shared your excitement with us last month. You are truly at the heart of RAVE ABOUT FOOD! We hope you return often to share your successes in the kitchen.
