Happy New Year! May the year be filled with amazing dishes and fulfilled wishes. More than 100,000 home cooks visited me last year to find recipes for their families. I’m excited to embark on another year of cooking and baking, in hopes of sharing some incredible new recipes with YOU! The January Cooking Challenge starts TODAY!

January Cooking Challenge

The winter weather and the holidays gave many of you a reason to find new recipes to make for your family. I hope each of you enjoyed spending time with loved ones. Baked goods and candy were at the top of your list in December as everyone began their holiday baking and gift giving.

Who won last month’s Cooking Challenge?

Thanks to everyone who visited raveaboutfood.com, made recipes and left reviews. Brent R. from North Carolina was chosen randomly from all entrants and is the winner of last month’s cooking challenge. Congratulations to Brent on being December’s winner!

Brent made Italian Wedding Soup and left this review with a 5-star rating:

“I’m a fan! I made this for friends recently and it was gone in no time. Thanks for an easy, yet delicious recipe.” ~Brent R.

What were the most popular recipes last month?

The most popular recipes last month were for holiday cookies and candies, by far. Many were looking for festive recipes and getting ready to spend time with family for Christmas. Almond Joy Candy Cups and Cream Wafers were at the top of many home cooks lists in December.

Satisfying soup recipes were also popular, as they usually are throughout the fall and winter seasons. Hearty soups were made in the slow cooker and kept us warm and satisfied last month.

Bridget B. made Slow-Cooker Ham and 12 Bean Soup and left this review:

“Delicious! Made this today, perfect for a cold rainy or snowy day. Very similar to how my grandma made beans and ham.”
