Anytime Waffles
Who said waffles are only for breakfast? We love them anytime! I made them today for my son and his friends and they were gone in a hurry. I started with my basic waffle recipe and then added a variety of toppings, including peaches and brown sugar, bananas and pecans, and even chocolate chips. What are your favorite toppings for these big, delicious Anytime Waffles?

Waffles can be sweet or savory, depending on the toppings and how you cook them. They are so versatile and can be made a hundred different ways. Be creative and make a waffle that your family will want you to make again and again, whether you serve them for breakfast or dinner.

Anytime Waffles Recipe
What’s needed?
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup canola oil
How to make Anytime Waffles?
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Heat the waffle iron. Spray the waffle iron lightly with cooking spray. Mix the eggs and the milk in a large bowl. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix thoroughly.
- Using a measuring cup, pour enough batter to cover the center of the waffle iron, about 1/2 cup of batter. Do not overfill your waffle iron or it will spill out the sides while cooking.

- Close the waffle iron and allow to cook until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Most waffle irons have an indicator light that will flash when the waffle is ready.
- Remove the waffle and top it with your favorite fruit, nuts and syrup. Toasted pecans and banana slices with maple syrup are always delicious.

Or how about fresh peaches cooked with butter and brown sugar?

Top these waffles with peanut butter and strawberry jam, or bacon and blueberry syrup, or pineapple and shredded coconut, or fried chicken and maple syrup? Just about anything you like can go on top of a waffle. My son’s favorite is chocolate chips, so I actually sprinkled them on before I closed the lid.

The chocolate chips melt right into the waffle.

For dessert, top this waffle with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge and whipped cream. Breakfast for dessert, yes please! This recipe makes about 5 waffles, depending on the size of your waffle iron.
