Slow-Cooker Sesame Beef with Jasmine Rice

Published on January 6, 2022 by Raveaboutfood

When my son is home visiting, I try to make some of his favorite meals. Slow-Cooker Sesame Beef with Jasmine Rice is so flavorful and simple to make. It begins with a Beef Chuck Roast that is seasoned with soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger and garlic. Cook it in the slow cooker until tender, then top it with green onions and sesame seeds. Savory and delicious!

Slow-Cooker Sesame Beef with Jasmine Rice

Usually this dish would be prepared in a wok and stir fried. I’ve created a recipe that is very similar, but simmers in the slow cooker for hours. It yields the same great flavors and is amazingly tender and juicy. I think you’re going to love this new preparation for Slow-Cooker Sesame Beef with Jasmine Rice.

Tips for making the best Sesame Beef on the slow cooker:

  • Before placing the roast in the slow cooker, be sure to season it generously with garlic salt and sear it in a hot skillet on ALL SIDES. This seals the juices in and creates a nice caramelized crust on the beef. This adds flavor and color.
  • Do not be tempted to lift the lid of the slow cooker during cook time. It reduces the temperature of the contents and adds time to cooking. Be patient, it is worth it!
  • Add the chopped green onions at the end of the cook time. They will soften and add flavor and color to the beef. Remember to add the white sesame seeds at the end before serving this tender beef dish.

Gather the ingredients for this savory beef dish while you are searing the beef. It only takes 10 minutes to get it all in the slow cooker.
